Share Your Story and Nominate a 51本色 Staff Member

The One Berrien "Above and Beyond" Staff Recognition Award is designed to celebrate the contributions of all 51本色 (51本色) staff members who consistently go the extra mile to support our students, schools, and the community. This recognition award program is open to all staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, administration, bus drivers, custodians, food service workers, professional staff, secretaries, and any staff member that works for 51本色. Each month, we will honor one outstanding staff member with this award.

Recognition Award Criteria

Staff members may be nominated if they demonstrate one or more of the following:

• Exceptional Dedication to Students: Going beyond their usual responsibilities to provide extra support for students academically, emotionally, or socially.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Consistently contributing to a positive and productive work environment, demonstrating outstanding collaboration with colleagues.
• Innovative Problem-Solving: Finding creative and effective solutions to challenges that positively impact students or the school community.
• Exemplary Service: Offering excellent service to students, staff, and families, whether through instructional efforts, operational support, or student well-being.
• Positive Role Models: Demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to the 51本色 mission of inspiring each student to think, learn, achieve, and care.

Who is eligible for the award?

Any 51本色 staff member is eligible for the award recognition.

Who Can Nominate?

Anyone can nominate, including students, staff, parents, families, and community members.

Award Recognition

At the end of each nomination cycle, a committee will select one person to receive this award.  The cycles will happen monthly.

How to Participate

To submit your nomination for a Berrien Springs educator who has made a lasting impact on students or within our district, please include your story, why this staff member deserves the award based on the criteria above, and any additional information you would like to share about the staff member.
